Walk & Roll to School Day
Walk & Roll to School Day is an annual event that involves communities from across the country (and globe!) walking and rolling to school on the same day.
It began in 1997 as a one-day event. Today, thousands of schools across America—from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico—participate every October. Over time, this celebration has become part of a movement for year-round safe routes to school.
On the last Thursday of each month, the PTA Hospitality Team treats the staff in small ways to show them our gratitude.
Most months, that looks like collecting breakfast items to pair with coffee and fun creamers, and wheeling around to classrooms (previously known as Coffee Cart).
This has traditionally been one of the staff’s favorite things we do for them, so we need your help to provide them with the yummiest things!
Friday, October 27th from 6:30-8:30pm on our basketball court!
All CCE families are invited to attend and costumes are encouraged!
Please be mindful of the pre-k students we have attending our school when dressing up for the evening, no gory costumes or look-alike weapons/accessories allowed.
Sixth grade students will be selling pizza, drinks, and snacks!
Snow cones will be sold by the Kona Ice truck!
Halloween Pumpkin Decorating Contest
It’s time for the Halloween Pumpkin Decorating Contest!
All students are encouraged to participate and get their creativity flowing.
Teachers will be voting on their favorites in 12 categories which are most artistic, scariest, most hilarious, animal theme, sports fanatic, most original, cutest, movie theme, most unique, Disney theme, most cougar pride and honorable mention.
Students should decorate a real pumpkin that they can carry into school themselves.
No carved pumpkins allowed, please!
All pumpkins must be dry of paint and glue when brought to school.

It's that time of year again to start spreading the word about the PTA's Arts in Education program, Reflections.
This is a great way for our students to explore the cultural arts and express their creativity.
The theme this year is,
I am Hopeful Because...
A student can submit an entry in one of six categories: Dance, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. Be on the lookout for more information in your Friday packet.
CCE Community, come experience the To Be Like Me Community Day!
Their mission is to encourage empathy, kindness, and compassion through disability awareness programs led by people living with disabilities.
Our fourth grade students attend this program as a field trip each year. This community event offers parents and siblings a chance to see and learn from the program as well.
Save the date for our Fall Community Day coming up on Sunday, November 12th from 2-4 PM at the Tolleson Family Activity Center in Dallas! We are booked up with field trips during the school year, so this is the perfect opportunity to experience our program. Bring your family!
CCE Parents! If you have volunteered at the school or for a PTA event please be sure to record your volunteer hours. This includes helping with auction, supply distribution, spirit wear, cafeteria helper, etc. We have amazing people at our school who donate a lot of time, so make sure those hours are counted.
SAGE PTA exists to expand support, awareness, and advocacy for students with diverse learning needs, for their families, and for RISD educators.
Members receive a newsletter, and for current RISD parents/guardians and educators, access to our members-only discussion group!
Membership is open to parents and guardians, educators and staff, students, grandparents, extended family, and friends who support students with disabilities and learning differences — it’s quick and easy to join, and you can even "gift" memberships!
Thank you for supporting #EveryChildOneVoice for RISD students with SAGE needs, for their teachers, and for their families. Together we can make a lasting impact.
To ensure student safety, RISD uses VOLY for school and PTA volunteer opportunities. Go ahead and get your background checks done for the year at risd.voly.org!
